We once again had the pleasure of teaching “Culture, Media and Society in Japan” this summer at the Global Education Center, University of Tokyo.
We gave lectures on Japanese media and culture, emotional labor, globalization, and other topics. Our field trips took us to Nezu, Akihabara, Shin-Okubo and other areas —each offering unique insights into Japanese culture and society. The graduate student TAs were fantastic and played a key role throughout the course. We hope many of you will come visit Tokyo again (^^
