Our Research

  • The I-Ethnography Lab conducts interdisciplinary research across diverse field sites, exploring the intersections of technology, media, mobility, and the production of art and popular culture. We critically examine social structures including race, ethnicity, class, and gender.
  • The ‘I’ in our lab’s name represents our affiliation with the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies (iii) and our commitment to Interdisciplinary ethnographic research. It also honors our roots in the Ethno Idea Lab at Meiji University.
